Teatergrillen
Nybrogatan 3, Stockholm
Magniberg welcomes Stockholm Design Week visitors and guests into one of the city’s most iconic restaurants.
For the duration of Design Week 2020, Magniberg will be taking over the historic restaurant’s interior, bringing its linens and curating work by a group of artists and friends from around the world in the space. Teatergrillen is one of Stockholm’s most beautiful and iconic restaurants. Since first opening its doors in 1945, it has been a second home for artists and intellectuals, the place to share a meal and exchange ideas. The Swedish director Ingmar Bergman was so frequent a regular that he still has a table named after him. Visitors may find “the Bergman table”, first on the left as you walk in.
For Stockholm Design Week Magniberg invited Swedish photographer Mikael Olsson to document the collaboration with Teatergrillen.
“We are unbelievably honoured to be bringing our Magniberg universe to Teatergrillen. In Stockholm there is no more hallowed restaurant. When you step inside the door you can almost feel the history... artists and intellectuals, glasses clinking, talking into the wee hours, cheeks flushed with red wine and intense feeling.”
