Descending by Sølve Sundsbø
Magniberg collaborates with Norwegian fashion photographer and artist Sølve Sundsbø on a visual interpretation of our universe. Sundsbø has garnered respect for his unexpected, otherworldly images, stylistic versatility and open-mindedness towards new technologies, from 3-D scanning to hand-painted retouching.
He has shot for publications such as Italian Vogue, i-D, New York Times and W Magazine. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions such as ‘Perroquets’ in 2008 and ‘Rosie and 21 Men’ in 2013. Sølve also received high praised for his images of Alexander McQueen archive shot for the catalogue of the celebrated ‘Savage Beauty’ retrospective at The Metropolitan Museum.
Sølve Sundsbø’s images signpost our unique fashion-led approach to bedwear.
“I’ve been drawn to Sølve’s take on fashion for many years, his formal experimentation and ambition, the vision and imagination in his work. He embodies what we want to achieve with Magniberg. It is both an honour and pleasure to collaborate with him on this project.”
– Bengt Thornefors, founder, Magniberg
“Bengt and I have something in common. We enjoy everyday life. We have kids, we get up in the morning, take the kids to school, and to football or taekwondo – you know, real life. But we don’t necessarily want real life when we work. We both enjoy going from a relatively normal life and into a world that still has more imagination. Whether it’s in photography or the world of interiors and bedwear.”
